Eigo Takaya started snowboarding in 2000 when he was 20 years old and had been snowboarding for 4 years in western area of Japan.
In 2004, he moved to Whistler Canada and spent 3 years just to improve his riding skill on Whistler and Blackcomb mountain.
While in this 3 years he learned skills for competing in the contest, riding big mountain and so on with “Canadian Sports Business Academy” (CSBA).
After he graduated, he went back to Japan and started competing in slopestyle contests while in 2007 to 2012 as a professional snowboarder.
He has been certified by Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors (CASI) as a Level 1, Level 2 instructor and a Park Instructor level 1 instructor since 2007.
He has started teaching beginner and intermediate snowboarders in 2008 and started to provide his own freestyle snowboard camp in 2009 to 2012.
He came back to Whistler again in 2012 to take over Shu’s job and started his coaching career.
He is currently coaching athletes who is training in Snowboard Athlete program of Canadian Sports Business Academy.
